Microsoft to announce ‘Project Pink’ phones next week: Reports

The rumors of Project Pink are growing but Microsoft has not provided any information about the project which some analyst believe will be a “Social Phone”. An announcement about the phone and/or software is expected in next week.

The “Project Pink” has no direct connection with the Windows Phone 7. According to Wall Street Journal, the company will announce new line of phones.

The device will focus on social networks and probably integration with Facebook and Twitter. According to the article in the Wall Street, Pink will be very similar to Windows 7 Phone, but will not run the same applications.

As such devices are typically geared to teenagers and others interested in social networking, hardware should not be as robust as in other smartphones.
