Microsoft unveiled KIN – The social phone

Microsoft unveiled Monday a new line of phones that use the Windows Mobile operating system. The product, called Kin, was designed for young generation which is more into social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Bebo and Orkut.
The phones that will have touch screen and slide-out keyboards, will be manufactured by Japan’s company Sharp. It is expected that the device will be released in the U.S. Market during the month of May. It is also expected that devices will hit the European Market by the end of this year.
The phone was unveiled by Microsoft’s Robbie Bach and Derek Snyder at the press event in San Francisco.
According to the company, the Kin was designed to facilitate sharing of information and content. From the initial screen, called the KIN Loop, the user will update services like Facebook and Twitter . The user will also receive updates from his friends in the opening screen.
