Two million iPads sold in 60 days: Apple says

Apple said on Monday that it has sold 2 million iPad since the launch of new Apple tablet. Apple started to accept the Pre-orders of the news device from March 12 and the tablet was launched on April 03. Just a month ago, Apple had announced that the company had sold 1 million tablets. “Customers around the world are experiencing the magic of iPad, and seem to be loving it as much as we do,” a press released on Apple website quotes Steve Jobs as saying.
Apple did not specify the regional sales details therefore It was unclear that how many iPads were sold outside the United States. The device was made available to nine markets including Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan and other European countries on May 28, however pre-orders in the these regions were started two week before the official launch.
The revolutionary device can be used for sending and receiving emails, managing pictures, playing games. iPad can run about two hundred thousand applications which are available at iPhone App Store. The Apple press release says that “Developers have created over 5,000 exciting new apps for iPad that take advantage of its Multi-Touch user interface, large screen and high-quality graphics.”.
