Facebook privacy setting simplified: Facebook claims
World most popular social networking website, Facebook, has recently updated the privacy setting. The change came two days after the announcement of Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zukerberg, in which he ensured that the privacy setting of social network will be simplified.
Facebook is generally targeted to new generation like teens but the website privacy policy is such a lengthy and detailed that it would need lawyers to completely understand it, according to multiple reports. New York Times noticed that Facebook privacy policy has 1,287 more words than the United States Constitution.

Facebook privacy is based on three level of visibility which are “Friends Only”, “Friends of Friends” and “Everyone”. “Friends” means that the data will only be visible to those in you Friend list of Facebook whereas “Everyone” means that information will be available to everyone. PC World however found that if you select “Friends of Friends”, only limited information including photos and status could be seen by your friends of friends. The change in behavior raises the question that why some information remains hidden when you select “Friends on Friends” while all information is being disclosed in the case of “Everyone”.

PC World also noted that the contrary complains about the Facebook privacy settings. Some people are complaining for limited control over privacy in the social network however others are complaining for too many options to update the privacy on the website.
