New Amazon Kindle 3 price starts from $139

Amazon.com introduced its low priced version of Kindle this week. The price of the latest e-reader starts from $139 which is the lowest than all e-reading devices offered by Seattle based online retailer.  There are two versions of Kindle 3, the one which costs $139 is Wi-Fi only however Wi-Fi + 3G version is also available but Amazon charges $50 more for 3G capability.

Amazon had surprised the industry by introducing the cheapest Kindle  for $259 last month. The introduction of the device under $150 is definitely a ground breaking.  Barnes & Noble’s Nook and Sony’s pocket e-reader cost $149.

The new Kindle, which is smaller and lighter than its previous version, has sharp screen.  Amazon.com said this week that it has outsold Kindle formatted eBooks than hardcover books.   Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos said, “Reading is important. Reading is why we build Kindles.”
