Microsoft removes part of Kin ad for ‘sexting’ concerns
Microsoft cut part of an advertisement for his new phone, Kin, targeting to young people, that showed a young kid sharing sexual nature image or video to his friends.
In the video, boy appears taking photo of his chest and sharing with his friends.
“Microsoft has removed the inappropriate part of the video Kin,” the company said in a message released via Twitter. “We take very seriously the ‘sexting’ and regret what has happened.”
The complaint came from the consumer report blog and demanded the controversial material be removed from the ad. The company launched new phones Kin1 and 2 especially to target young people by providing tools such as Facebook, Twitter on their finger tips. The phones are offered at Verizon wireless.
