Britain, Norway and Denmark close airports due to Iceland volcano ash

By Jamie Cole
The ash cloud caused the closure of airspace that result in cancellation of most of flight in Britain. The result of closure is affecting other airports in other countries in northern Europe, causing delays and flight cancellation. There are at least 13 thousand flight operating to or from London Heathrow airport every day

According to the Office of National Air Traffic Control (NATS), British airspace will remain closed “at least” until the 6 hours of Friday (3 hours GMT), except for emergency flights.

The NATS adopted the measure after finding that the winds follow the direction of Britain, south, pushing the region to the ash from the volcano. Restrictions can be enlarged and a new estimate will be held at 19 am local time (16 hours GMT) this Thursday.

Thousands of passengers were affected by the cancellations of all flights in Britain and there were only small number of planes landed and took off before the suspension at 10 am local time (7 hours, GMT).
There are also reports that Norway and Denmark have also closed all air traffic to avoid any accident due to the eruption in southern Iceland and Norway.
